pi4j v2 - Project dead?

Hi guys and girls,
I haven't seen any activity in the Github since summer and I read somewhere that you wanted to release a beta mid-september last year, which unfortunately hasn't happened yet. Is this project still alive and can we expect a beta release of v2 any time soon?
